From My blog on 13th April............
Mum n I got back from the fayre today Dad met us with the news that Charlie wasnt well so Aly & Chris had taken him to the hospital, n they would call us as soon as they had any news so we sat tight & waited for them to call ..........Well we got it big time!
Chris called to say that they were transferring them from the local hospital to Pendlebury, which is Manchesters specialist childrens hospital, and that they were putting him on the HDU (high Dependency Unit) cos they think his kidneys have failed, n could we meet them there.
When we got there they hadnt arrived, but they did a few minutes after us, complete with Blues & Two's, Aly said they had them on all the way down the motorway, in the fast lane the whole way.
Aly made us come home a while ago, but I cant see any of us getting much sleep tonight!At the moment they have him on Dialysis, his body is destroying his red blood cells for some reason & they are hoping this will clean his blood & will 'kick start' his kidneys again, and we are all holding our breath hoping it works, if not the consultant was talking about an operation - not sure what tho, but I am hopng it doesnt come to that.
Thing is, no-one knows whats caused this, he was fine apart from not eating much yesterday, Aly said he woke up n he was kind of hyperventilating this morning, but hes not hot, and he seemed to be a bit of a 'funny colour' (he's got a yellowy tint to his skin today) but nothing major that youe would say "that childs ill" if you follow me. Our Charlie has a wierd way of reacting when he's ill thos so it could just be a wierd reaction from his immune system (hmmm wonder where he gets that from???)........... when he had an ear infection he came out in a rash all over his body.................. when he had a cold he got realy hot n ended up with a serious nappy rash from sweating................. he had a cough & cold n ended up with conjunctivitus instead of a runny nose like most kids get................ like I said, not normal reactions to things, n he had a bit of a chest infection a week or so ago, so this could be his way of dealing with that.Can you all please send him all your good thought n prayers please cos hes so little & hes being so good with everything they are doing to him.
